Spring Rec View Day is Sunday, January 11

Sunday, January, 11 is our View Day for the Spring Softball season! We encourage all of our BGS players in the 8U, 10U and 12U divisions to attend. Players in 6U and 14U do not need to attend View Day. 

 

View Day is important for the league to evaluate players skills and balance our Spring Rec teams. Additionally, all 8U, 10U and 12U players interested in Spring Select are required to attend View Day.

 

What: View Day for 8U, 10U and 12U divisions to help balance teams for the Spring season

Where: Franklin Field 

Date:  Sunday, January 11, 2025

Time (please arrive 15 minutes early for registration and warm up):  

  • 8U: 9:00-10:00am for all players (plus 10:00-10:30am for pitchers and catchers only) 
  • 10U: 10:30-11:30am (plus 11:30-12:00pm for pitchers and catchers only)
  • 12U: 12:00-1:00pm (plus 1:00-1:30pm for pitchers and catchers only)

 

Player Details: Players should come dressed to practice with gear. A glove, defensive face mask and helmet are required, and bat and cleats are optional. Parents - please label all gear with your player’s name.  

 

Team Formation:  

  •  6U teams will be formed primarily by school and coach availability  
  •  8U teams will be formed following View Day
  •  10U/12U teams will be formed following View Day and coaches' draft 
  •  14U players will be contacted separately, and do not need to attend View Day

 

Spring Select Teams: 

Each year, BGS forms additional teams in the 8U, 10U and 12U divisions during the Spring Season, called Select Teams. The Select program offers an option for more competitive play. Similar to our Summer All Star program, Select requires that players will be able to make the majority of scheduled events and pay an additional participation fee. These teams primarily play against other Select teams on the Peninsula on Sundays, so as not to conflict with Spring Rec. There may also be opportunities for some Spring tournaments. Unfortunately, not all interested players are guaranteed a position on a Select team. More information about the Spring Select Program will be distributed in the coming weeks.
